A variety of thoughts from EQ Studios very own John Hamilton.
Some Exciting Feedback for EQ Studios
As a musician/artist, positive feedback from anyone who appreciates your work is always lovely to hear – regardless of whether that person is a professional in the industry or a listener who enjoys your work and creations.
However, it’s always a great boost when you get good feedback from someone who is firmly established – perhaps even someone who you admire or whose music you or others have been listening to for years.
This week I received an email from Kay Shelley, who last year with her partner Gavin Sparks, did an album of original jazz tracks called 'Pimp My Jazz'. I produced this album at EQ Studios as well as playing keyboards and singing backing vocals.
Here is part of the email that was sent to Kay -:
“I heard the song "Loving Love", and I have to say that you have a lot of talent. xxxxxx is right when he says that the track reminds [him of] the foggy atmosphere of London.
You did a great job!
Kay has also informed me that George confirmed that he had been given a copy of the album. Kay and I have both agreed that for an international artist of his caliber to bother to send an email like this must mean that in his opinion (and hopefully many others!) the song and the production is of a pretty good quality. (By the way, George confirmed that it was ok to use his quote for publicity purposes ☺)
Of course, needless to say I’m delighted at such wonderful feedback! And if you’re curious to her the album 'Pimp My Jazz' you can purchase it here -: http://www.pimpmyjazz.co.uk/
If you do have a listen, please let me know what you think!
Hope you all have a great weekend :) John.
